With its frequent overt bias, NPR’s weekend media show On the Media makes NPR’s news magazine shows like Morning Edition appear thoroughly objective by comparison. It is so hopelessly biased that shows to explore the question of whether NPR was biased were themselves overwhelmingly biased.

What may be the single most influential musical composition of all time, Russian composer Igor Stravinsky’s le Sacre du Printemps, premiered in Paris on May 29th, 1913. The music, and its starkly iconoclastic ballet choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky so jarred many audience members, it produced an unprecedented demonstration, considered by many to have been “a riot.”

Forget the Department of Justice surveillance. Associated Press is actually writing about “alleged scandals” and “alleged misbehavior” when it reports on Obama. Somehow we’re not going to take it seriously when former AP employees like Ron Fournier have predicted the AP surveillance was going to make the wire service turn critical of the White House.

GOP Talking Points of the Day

Things Republicans consider important

  1. Who can we bash
  2. How can we bash them
  3. How can this make them look bad
  4. How can this make us look good
  5. What NOT to mention

If you are a "leftie",  it's often fun reading the right-wing blogs and websites as they seem to have the most colorful comments which are, depending on the moderation of the site, sure to be filled with lib-bashing (well most all but conservative-bashing really - but that's just "what they do".)

We decided to include RSS newsfeeds from Newsbusters as it gives you an insight into just what Republicans call "liberal media bias" and what they find most "offensive" in that regard. It's often better than Comedy Central. Two things that stand out are 1. the hypocrisy and 2. the use of "apples to oranges" comparisons as "gotcha' arguements for their case. You won't find a bigger bunch of crybabies whining about some trivial "offense" that has their panties tied in a knot today - which IMO only adds to the comedic value.

To counter the GOP "Psycho Talk", we have included a submenu containing research from 2 sites dedicated to exposing and/or debunking much of this "conservative misinformation".

Point your dittohead wingnut friends here after they've hit you with their  daily dose of whatever it is they are supposed to be upset about today.

Any liberal is familiar with the website Media Matters for America, which I consider one of the best places to stay abreast of the latest Republican "talking points" as well as a thorough list of conservative "misinformation" that is updated on a daily basis (and throughout the work-day).

The Conservative counterpart is called NewsBusters - and the logo says it all. Ugh yes, we all know about that "liberal media bias".

Of course, in their Teapublican world of playing the victim, the only thing that is NOT "liberal media bias" is any publication or media source that is owned or operated by the Rupert Murdoch Empire.

It astounds me sometimes when I read some of the things they take issue with. Even more astounding is that they will take examples of  a "liberal media" source that has totally ripped apart a Republican myth (or lie) and actually STILL take issue with it! As if to say "HOW DARE THEY call us out for our lies." The signature tagline in my forum posts explains the conservative mindset, their "clan mentality", and numerous studies done that prove how and why I often feel they are from a totally different planet!

Anyhow - The feed articles in this category are here for your pure entertainment value. They will help you understand where Stephen Colbert gets "his character". And we all know, he's got the "typical conservative Republican" down to a T.

Notice the number of articles in this category. There are probably more articles per day put out by Newsbusters than any of the other feeds we susbcribe. Which only goes to show, not only by the number of articles, but the trivial nature of their complaints, that these people just live to whine about nothing!
