The GOP immediately blamed Obama for this. One GOP senator said it was a lack of Obamas leadership that lead to this outrageous behavior.
Now I believe the buck stops at the big mans desk. But these guys don't report to the big man they protect him. They have to do whats right not whats popular which is what makes this crime so wrong and so heinous.
But thats not why the GOP is screaming about OBAMA.
Its because the head of the secret service is a BUSH appointee. He should go - like the head of the GSA.
I think crap should roll uphill from time to time.
But NOT this time - not by a long shot. The head of the Sec Service should go....

What isn't Obama's fault? Similarly Obama will be blamed for the GSA scandal. I'm sure they'll blame him for any consequences of the latest developing weather anomalies hitting the Eastern US over the next few days.

Ironically, if the prostitutes had been paid for their "services rendered" no one would even know about any of it. If you want an example of a "Good Ol' Boys Club" in the federal government, the SS would be near the top of the list.

I wish I could say for certain whether this lack of a moral compass is any more prevalent in today's society than it has been in any other era throughout history. Personally, I don't really think so.

This is more an indication of the kinds of activity and abuse of power that goes on in most any corporation or institution throughout the world - a reflection of the basic flaw of human nature as exemplified in the Garden of Eden fable. As embarrassing as it is, why should anyone be so shocked? Are you telling me no one ever watched a James Bond movie? They're shocked that we have real Pussy Galore's in the real world?

This sort of activity - as seen in both the SS and GSA - will always be with us. And that would be true whether the institution were government funded or privatized. The thing that pisses people off most is that "their tax dollars" are being used for it - but how are "their" dollars not being used when such activity comes out of corporate excess? The consumer always pays.

Maybe Congress should create a Whistleblower Compensation Act - it seems like the only way to fight abuse and corruption is to make the reward for exposure outweigh the benefits of staying silent.

Oh - and you can also almost guarantee that "the gays" will be blamed for any moral breakdown... Tony Perkins blames Secret Service Prostitution Scandal on the Repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell - Really.

Cleve-
Does the fact that prostitution is legal in this country alleviate this at all? Its a funny situation based upon our morals clashing with the morals of other countries.
Of course these guys are supposed to be preparing for or protecting the President so it's scary in that regards.........
Of course legal prostitution Columbia is all Obama's fault making him guilty of human trafficking too

:silly:

Some folks are asking if administrative people were involved and so far the answer seems to be no (not yet). This was the advance team, made up of primarily of Sec Ser, and military, with some admin people as well.
The GOP is looking for anything to use to tarnish this administration. At first blush, this doesn't seem to be "it". Secret Service and military are the primary culprits b ut at this point, any admin people may be lower echelon types.
I think there should be a congressional inquiry and the head of the secret service (Sullivan) should resign.

Given that the Sec Ser is part of the Dept of Homeland Security (and has been since 2003) should we review the entire agency? It appears to me at least that TSA has problems, the Secrete Service has issues and nobody wants domestic spying by DHS. Is this a failed agency?
